„This - Berrettini told Sky Sport - was a tournament that opened the doors of my career at this level. Shortly thereafter I entered the top 10 and I gained the awareness that I could play against the best of 5 sets. A special tournament for a million reasons. It's already been 7 years, but it's a tournament that I carry in my heart.“ Zu seiner aktuellen Gefühlslage erklärte er: „I'm training well and I have a great desire to do. It's nice to be back here.“

In einem weiteren interessanten Interview mit Supertennis sprach Berrettini über seinen Weg auf der ATP-Tour im Jahr 2026: „I realized that I have to feel good, create an environment that makes me feel good with my team, with the people next to me. Thanks to that then I can get on the court and manage certain difficulties.“

„This city has given me so many joys, unfortunately also some disappointments, a big one - he said - This is a Slam, it is clearly a more important tournament than the others, but I know that if it doesn't go well there will be another tournament. I would like New York to be a city from which I take energy.“

Auch an seinen Freund Jannik Sinner, der die US Open wegen einer Verletzung am rechten Knie verpasst, richtete Berrettini einige Worte. „It's part of our journey, it's part of the life we live, of the intensity of this sport that has really become almost too much“.

Anschließend sprach der Italiener über das Gefühl, regelmäßig an seine Grenzen zu gehen: „I push myself to the limit every week, even if it seems absurd to say. Sometimes I tell my team that it would be really interesting to have a hidden camera somewhere and let others see what happens. In recent months a bit of all kinds have happened, even this American trip was not very easy but every time I take the field I find the strength to defeat what is happening to me. I believe that this is every day to exceed one's limit.“
